Reporting from within the Thera system.
There are 10 shattered planets, 14 planets in total, orbiting an A0IV Type violent blue sub-giant. There is some sort of violent event near the surface of the star's corona consisting of a series of unstable and non-traversable wormholes. From preliminary analysis, it appears that the stellar primary underwent a catastrophic main sequence event, reminiscent of the Seyllin event though much larger in scale. Everything inside the orbit of planet 10, including the Sanctuary Testing Facilities, Sanctuary Expedition Command Center, Sanctuary Planetary Colonization Office, and all of the planets, moons, and asteroids were all destroyed by this event. Sleepers have been spotted in the proximity of the wrecked stations.
More mysteriously, the epicenter location appears to be marked by a number of strange structures including destroyed sleeper enclaves and talocan ruins. Interestingly, an arrangement of talocan structures appear to the be only things intact at the site.

The nebulas visible through the event horizon of the epicenter wormholes don't correspond to any nebulas in Known Space.

Yeah. SL-YBS, in the Great Wildlands.

Yeah it vanished with the original Seyllin event, it was assumed destroyed in the event.

Ollie Rundle wrote:With due respect to the humanitarian concerns of GMVA and many of those posting here, there's little chance that anyone or anything biological has survived if they were inside the ring of ten shattered planets. Loss of contact happened 14 days ago, coinciding with the appearance of the stellar anomaly. If they want anything from capsuleers at all SoE simply wanted us to re-establish contact by locating the system again.
Now that's been achieved, they're either mounting a covert rescue operation of immense subtlety or they've realised there's no-one left to rescue and are instead focussing efforts on salvage of damaged resources and maintaining their undamaged resources/operations within the systems.
Trying to 'rescue' individuals who are likely already two weeks deceased seems at best an exercise in futility and at worst an imminent threat to one's own material and human assets.
I would agree with this. If we could have gotten into Thera immediately after the initial event, its possible that survivors could have been rescued from the station ruins, but given the amount of time that has passed, its unlikely anyone is still alive there.
